Luka Modric Wins Men's Player Of The Year At The 2018 FIFA Best Awards

Croatian and Real Madrid forward, Luka Modric,33, has won the World best player of the year award at the 2018 FIFA Best Awards at London's Royal Festival Hall, London. Winning the award has put full stop to the Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi decade of rivalry for the award.

The 33-year-old player beat Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid/Juventus) and Mohammed Salah (Real Madrid) due to his outstanding performance for club side and his performance for his country at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Modric won the 2017/2018 Champions League title with Real Madrid and took his country to the final of the World Cup in Russia where they were humiliated by France in the final.

According to Modric, 'It was an unbelievable season, the best season in my life.' 'I'm very proud of everything I achieved this year. It will be remembered, for sure, forever.'
