2017 NOBEL LAUREATES PRIZE: 3 Scientists Share Nobel Medicine Prize

Three scientidts, Jeffrey C. Hall, Michael Rosbash and Michael W. Young have have been awarded this year's Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine.

It was made known today in Stockholm, Sweden by the Nobel prize committee.

The 2017 edition of the award was for the discoveries of molecular mechanisms controlling the circadian rhythm.

The three winners established how man's biological clock helps to regulate sleep patterns, feeding behaviour, hormone release and blood pressure.

This year's Nobel Laureates used fruit flies as a model organism by isolating a gene that controls the daily biological rhythm.

According to report, the Physiology or Medicine Nobel Prize has been awarded 107 times to 211 Nobel Laureates between 1901 and 2016.
