Zamfara Workers Embark On Indefinite Strike

Zamfara Embark Strike

Zamfara state workers have embarked on indefinite strike. The workers on Monday embarked on strike as a result of state government's failure to meet the workers demands. Industrial action is now order of day, doctors are strike, university lecturers are also on strike.

Mr Bashir Mafara, the state  chairman of Nigerian Lanour Congress declared that the workers will go on strike after the 21 days ultimatum given to the government to meet their demand.

With the current situation of things in the country, the workers have been facing non payment of salaries which is holding back them to do what they are supposed to do with their money. Some staffs have been recruited they have not been paid for more than two years.

It was also reported that the state is oweing retirees gratuities and pension, no annual increment, teachers are not being paid the local government workers.

Three ad hoc committees have been set up to ensure the progress of the industrial action, the workers had been told to stay at home till government submit to their demand.
