Woman Accuses Police Of Killing Her Husband In Delta State

Woman police kill husband delta


A Delta woman, Gladys Kelikuma has accused police in Delta state of killing his husband,Ernest Kelikuma,60. The deceased was the owner of the private security firm, Ambassador Security Service and Co. Nigeria Limited situated at 52 Old market road, Onitsha, Anambra.

The tragedy began when his security firm caught an armed robber who wanted to break into a house in Fegge town and a gun was recovered from the robber. Kelikuma was allegedly killed after he receiving a call from the investigating police officer (IPO) over the arrest of a thief by his private security firm.

According to Gladys, Kelikuma's eife, she said the sad incident happened on August 31, 2017 at Fegge Police Station around 6:30pm.She also said that the police deposited the  remains of deceased at Boromi Hospital, Onitsha

In her statement, "My husband left the house gull of life on that day after receiving a call from the police and never returned home. All they are telling us is that Ernest killed himself while trying to dislodge the gun found with the robber."

Apart from the wife of the deceased, the son also narrated his own side of the story, the son, Chidubem Kelikuma said, "On 31st August, my father and I were eating in the house when he received a call from Fegge Police Station on his MYN line at about 4:45pm.

" He immediately left the food and told me that his attention was needed at the police divisional headquarters and requested that I should go with him to the station, but I told him that I was tired and needed to rest.

"He left the house with the promise to return very soon, but we never saw him again. The next day, my mother told me that she received a call from the security adviser to my father requesting that she should come to the police station.

He added, " The gun that the police claimed killed my father was the exhibit which my father's security personnel, Emmanuel Akpan, handed over to the police after apprehending the armed robber."

Kelikuma is survived by ten (10) children, until his death he was a native of Ewechi-Onicha Ukwuani in Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State.
