Popular Kenyan Actress Dies With Her Baby During Delivery Due To Strike By Nurses

Kenyan actress dies delivery strike

Kenyan actress, Maureen Wanda is dead. She died while giving birth in Kilifi County, Kenya yesterday due to strike action by the nurses and clinical officers. The health services in the public hospitals country have been dormant as a result of the industrial action which has been on for about 106 days still counting.

Source revealed that she had been rushed to a private clinic after developing complications.

Confirming her death, Ashiners Films CEO, Ann Hamburg said, "It was an emergency. While at the facility, her situation worsened as she gave birth. Shevbled tondeath. Unfortunately, her baby also died minutes later,"

Also confirming the sad news, fellow actor Ken Ambani speaking from Johannesburg that indeed Wanza was no  more, "It's sad not only to me as a friend but to the entire acting industry fraternity."

Wanza's death happened at a time when many patients are seeking treatment in the private hospitals as a result of the strike action.

 The family, friends, colleagues and fans of the popular Mombasa based actress are in mourning after she passed on. She will be remember for acting on several operas that have aired on Kenyan TV such Sumu and Moyo.
