Gov. Bello Set To Recover Kogi Looted Resources From Past Governors

Governor Of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello is set to recover the state looted resources from his predecessors, Captain Idris Wada and Ibrahim Idris. The governor has inaugurated seven men committee that will look into recovering of the state's looted funds.

The aim of the committee is to look into how the resources of the state were used between May 2003 to  January 2016. The committee members are Chairman of the committee, Major General Mobolaji Koleoso (Rted), Barrister Katun Sule, Secretary; Yakubu Okala, Kasim Suleiman, Barrister Agada, MARIAM Ladi Ibrahim and Kingsley Fanwo. Joseph Daudu (SAN) is to serve as legal counsel.

They are expected to track and recover all looted funds assets of the state from the past governments. The exercise is to bring about accountability and transparency in governance.

The Governor said, "My administration inherited a state that was lagging behind in critical infrastructures and transparency in governance, a development blamed on failed leadership"

"But I promised commitment to run a transparent and accountable system, with focus on delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the state.Thus, the idea to probe past government is to also serve as deterrent to those in my administration.

" No responsible government would fold it's alms and watch few individuals deprive the masses of their right to decent living as a result of corruption".
