LG Chairman Says He Met Only N1,500 In LG's Account


Alhaji Musa Bello, the Chairman of Mubi Local Government, Adamawa has claimed that he met only N1,500 in the local government account when resumed as the chairman.
Bello said,

According to Bello, "I met only N1500 in the council's account and a liability of over N200 million, while the Internally Generated Revenue of the council, then, was N150,000 weekly," he added that he also inherited a liability of over N200 million.

Bello claimed that he had used his experience as a councilor that had served in the local government to organize the business community to pay appropriate taxes, to shore up the council's internal revenue.

Ex- Minister, Maitama Sule Dies At 87


Former Minister of National Guidance, Yusuf Maitama Sule is dead, he died at the she of 87-year-old. The business man and politician who was born on October 1, 1929, died in Cairo, Egypt.

Great Maitama Sule, an acclaimed orator snd diplomat became the Federal Commissioner of Public Compliants in 1979, the position made him the nation's pioneer Ombudsman.

In 1979, Sule was a presidential candidate of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) but he lost the race to Shehu Shagari who eventually became the president of Nigeria at that time.

IDPs Record 3000 Births In Three Months


About 3000 births have been recorded among the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the last six months on Borno State. This development was made knoenon Monday July 2, by the Chairman of Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mr Satomi Ahmad.

The rise in births at the IDPs camps in Borno stare between January and June may be attributed to the co- existence of couples at the camps.

According to Satomi, "We recorded 3000 births among IDPs in the last six months. The mothers were supported with drugs and reproductive kits"

He added that SEMA has been working together with State's Ministry of Health to give support to expectant mothers and ambulances were also provided to enhance referral services.

Aisha Buhari Visits President Buhari In London


Mrs Aisha Buhari, the wife of  President Muhammadu Buhari has left the country for London to visit his husband. Aisha left on July 2, 2017 to check well being of his husband, Buhari who has been in London since May 7, for medical vacation.

Aisha who leftv Nigeria on Sunday July 2, will not be going directly to London, she would stop at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to attend the meeting of the Organization of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA) which is scheduled for today, July 3, and also celebrate the  anniversary of OAFLA with other members.

Recall that the last time Aisha visited her husband in London was on May 30, 2017, and she returned the following month, June 6. She will continue her journey from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to London on Tuesday.

Lagos State Govt. Arrest 100 Suspected Badoo Cult Members


One hundred suspected badoo cult members have been arrested by the Lagos State Government, the deadly cult group that having been oppressing and terrorising the lives people in Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

The badoo cult group have been causing damages and killing people in Ikorodu, recently some families were killed by the dreaded cult group. Due to the indiscriminate killings by the badoo group, the residents have reinforced to curb the excesses of the cult group.

Gov. Fayose Dissolves His Commissioners After 2 Years


Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose assumed office on October 16, 2014, most of the commissioners were sworn in on July 2, 2015. 

After two years, Governor Fayose sacked his commissioners. This development was made known in Ado-Ekiti by Mr. Lere Olayinka, the Special Assistant to the governor on Public Communication and New Media.

The development was with immediate effect and all Commissioners are to hand over to the Permanent Secretary of their various ministries.

Nollywood Yoruba actress, Lola Alao in an interview recently said every single mother made a wrong choice. In the interview, she was asked why there are many single mothers in the Yoruba sector of the Nollywood movie industry, she said;


“I think it has to do with making the wrong choices. I will say they haven’t gotten to their final destination that is why they are single mothers. I think every single mother you see made a wrong choice.”

Report from preminmtimes says the Igbo leaders in a communique at the end of the meeting also backed calls for restructuring of the country on the basis of fairness and equity.

EKITI Lawmaker Blasts Fayose On Buhari's Health


Hon Gboyegs Aribisogan, member of Ekiti State House of Assembly has addressed Governor of EKITI, Ayodele Fayose for making derogatory comments on President Muhammadu Buhari's health status.

In a news conference on Wednesday at Government House, Ado-Ekiti, Fayose had alleged that Buhari has been placed on a life support machine since June 6 in a London hospital where he has been recieving medical treatment, thereby calling on Buhari to resign from office.

Lepacious Bose: 'I Was Making Lot Of Money When I Was Fat Than Now That I Am Slimming Down'


Famous Nigerian commedienne, Lepacious Bose has revealed that she made more money when she was fat than when she became slim. 

She made this known on Saturday at a news conference to mark the 2nd anniversary of Herbal Pro's flagship product, EZ Slim and the Unveiling of Nigeria's First Online Health and Wellness Newsletter in Lagos.

She said, "I was obese for 25-years. I was never happy being fat and I had health challenges like my thyroids were aggravating, I was depressed, for two years I was not menstruating. I was so emotional and each time I visited the hospital, they will ask me to go and lose weight.

One of the Osun State University, UNIOSUN students, Dr. Lateefat Oyeleye Abiola who was unable to complete her studies after National Universities  Commission (NUC) refused to accredit Medicine in 2012 due to lack of a medical school has emerged the best graduating medical student at the V.N Karazin Kharkov National University in Ukraine.

Lateefat was filled with joy as she delivered the valedictory speech yesterday, June 30, she was one of the 85 medical students that could not continue at UNIOSUN because their course was not accredited by NUC..

British Airways To Borrow 9 Planes From Qatar Airways


Bristish Airways is set to borrow nine planes, pilots snd cabin crews from Qatar Airways due to strike action. The strike will commence today July 1 to July16, the airline had kept passengers guessing and some flights had been canceled.

According to Mr Oliver Richardson, Unite's national officer, he said, "We will fight both industrially and legally to defend our members' fundamental human right to stand up to bullying and for decent pay"
