A mother and author of Sunday Times, Katerina Diamond said that she is paying her son Oliver who is 17 years old £7 per hour to encourage him to revise for his upcoming A-level examinations.

The 41-year-old mother came up with idea of giving her son  the said amount to motivate him and also to enable him prepare for his upcoming exams and her husband, Derek agreed with her.

The method employed by Katerina and her husband has been criticized by many parents but she doesn't care whatever people say, she said her son is being paid the same way working class are paid when they go to work.

Oliver wants to study engineering at the university, he is studying Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science for his A-levels.

The condition for the £7 per hour is Oliver has to revise in front of his parents so they can see he is really going it. Katerina said, "He's not a natural reviser because he thinks he already knows things."

She claimed that the method is working that Liver's marks have improved at school, they no longer have to remind him to revise.
