Man Divorces Wife Over Adultery With His Typist


A 65-year-old man on Friday told an Ibadan Customary Court, sitting in Agodi, how his wife of 38 years committed adultery with his typist while he was away on official assignment.


The husband, Mr Alaba Aigbe, had asked the court to dissolve his marriage with Veronica over alleged adultery and witchcraft.

In his testimony, the complainant said that while he was on official assignment in Jigawa in 2006, he asked his typist to be collecting his salaries and give to his wife.

It was last week that Manchester United fans at viewing center in Calabar were electrocuted. The Man U fans met their untimely death when a high tension cable fell snd they were electrocuted.

It was a sad moment while they watching the Europa League match between their club side, Man Umited of England and Anderlecht of Belgium.

Man U will be honoring their seven Nigerian fans who lost their lives at viewing center as they will playing on Sunday against Swansea City, the Man U players will be wearing black armbands in honour of the late fans.

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff said he was pulling out the reconciliation move of the former President Goodluck Jonathan to resolve the party’s leadership crisis.

Sheriff in a statement signed by his Deputy National Chairman, Dr Cairo Ojougboh issued on Thursday in Abuja, said this was to enable his led National working Committee (NOC) to  focus on repositioning the PDP.

He said that the reconciliation moves initiated by Jonathan had finally collapsed, alleging that the move had been hijacked by the Sen. Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee.

Tanzania President Fires Over 9000 Civil Servants Over Fake Certificate


Over 9000 civil servants in Tanzania have been sacked over forged educational certificates. Tanzania president, John Magufuli made this known on state TV on Friday after much investigation, it was discovered that 9,932 government workers in the country presented forged certificates when they were screened for employment.


The sacked government workers have been charged to court where they would have to defend themselves. According to President Magufuli, "They are thieves like any other thieves.. You cannot perform if you don't have deserving qualification,".

Popular Indian actor, Vinod Khanna who had starred in many Bollywood films is dead. Vinod had featured in many films including the popular film which he starred, Amar Akbar Anthony.

The veteran actor who had suffered from camcer died at the age of 70 at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, India.

Libyan Authority Repatriate More Nigerians From Libya


Bringing Nigerians abroad back home has become a norm, these deportees are brought home for different reasons ranging from illegal immigrant, drug, related offences, crime, cyber crime and more.

No fewer than 253 Nigerians repatriated from Libya arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Monday evening. The returnees, who arrived aboard an airbus belonging to Libyan Air, touched down at the airport around 6.45pm.

Exposed! Overdose Of Painkillers Killed Senator Isiaka Adeleke


Isiaka Adeleke, the Osun West Senator who died suddenly yesterday in Oshogbo, the Osun State capital, was killed by an overdose of painkillers administered to him by an unqualified medical technician, SaharaReporters has learned.

The Senator received the medication following complaints of serious pain in his legs at the beginning of day-long political rally and meetings.

A source at the Osun State Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital said the late Senator recently began preparations to run for governor in the state in 2018.  On Saturday, he embarked on a series of political events, before heading out to the events he was complaining to his about the pain, and a quack administered the painkillers intravenously, relieving him of the pain.

Scientists have a new solution for bringing clean water to remote areas.

A team has created a solar-powered device that can produce drinking water out of air -- even in desert climates, according to the researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of California, Berkeley.
"I'm most excited about being able to realize a functioning device in these remote areas and to be able to provide clean water to all the people who need it," Evelyn Wang, associate mechanical engineering professor at MIT and co-author of the paper first published in the journal "Science," told CNNTech.

The first civilian governor of Osun and serving senator, Isiaka Adeleke, is dead. He died in the early hours of Sunday at a private hospital in Osogbo. He died at the age of 62

At the residence of the former governor in Ede, the atmosphere was tense as his corpse was brought in at about 1:10 p.m, preparatory to the Islamic burial rites at 4:p.m.

A crowd of sympathisers and family members were seen weeping uncontrollably on sighting the corpse of the late flamboyant politician and socialite.

Former England and Aston Villa defender Ugo Ehiogu has died at the age of 44 after suffering a cardiac arrest at Tottenham's training centre on Thursday, 20 April,2017.

A Spurs statement said Ehiogu died in hospital in the early hours of Friday.

Ehiogu, who was Spurs' Under-23s coach, was capped four times by England.

Ehiogu made over 200 appearances for Aston Villa between 1991 and 2000 and then spent seven years at Middlesbrough.

The incident happened after a transformer near the viewing centre located in the Iyang-Esu area of the Calabar Municipal Local Government Area exploded during the match and this caused a high-tension cable to drop on the viewing centre.

The Hawks have made progress in their investigation of a Nigerian prophet who allegedly sexually abused young women from his church, a spokesperson said on Tuesday, April 18.


"We are investigating different charges, but we can't name them before making an arrest," Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Netshiunda said on Tuesday.

On Monday night, current affairs programme Special Assignment carried a report about Prophet Tim Omotoso, the founder of the Jesus Dominion International Church with branches countrywide. He had allegedly had sex with girl as young as 14 in his home in Umhlanga, north of Durban.

President Buhari Suspends SGF And DG, NIA


President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered an investigation into the allegations of violations of law and due process made against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr David Babachir Lawal, in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).

The President has also directed the suspension of the SGF from office pending the outcome of the investigations.

In a related development, the President has ordered a full scale investigation into the discovery of large amounts of foreign and local currencies by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a residential apartment at Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos, over which the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) has made a claim.

Attorney General: Lagos Considering Rev King, Others' Death Sentence

Abuja Airport Opened Earlier Than The Proposed Date


President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday commended the efforts of the Ministries of Transport, Power, Works and Housing, Kaduna State government, Julius Berger Plc, others who made possible the official re-opening of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, ahead of the deadline.

It will be recalled that the airport was shut down  March 8 for six weeks to pave way for rehabilitation of the runway and was billed to be re-opened today, April 19.

The President was elated that the authorities met the deadline 24 hours ahead of the official date of reopening.

In a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina, President Buhari said he “looked forward to such display of inter-agency cooperation and efficiency in the operation of the entire Federal Government machinery.”

Amaechi Denies Owning The Luxury Apartment Where $43m Was Found, Demands Compensation Of N750m From Fani-Kayode And N500m From Lere Olayinka For Damages


Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi has written to Chief Fani-Kayode and the aide to governor of Ekiti state. ZMr Lere Olayinka to retract their posts on their twitter accounts linking him with the $43 million found in a luxury home in Ikoyi Lagos State

Amaechi who wrote through his counsel, Mr Lateef Fagbemi SAN said if they failed to make the retraction within seven days they would meet in court. He said the retraction should be made in about five national newspapers and their twitter pages.

He also said Olayinka should pay him 500 million naira while Kayode who was a former Minister of Transportation should part with 750 million naira. The Minister said the money were compensation for the damages he had suffered from their various postings.

British Pop Legend 'Investigated For Alleged Rape Of 14-Year-Old Virgin


A British pop legend is reportedly being investigated for the raoe of a 14-year-old girl. The attack allegedly took place in the 1970s after the girl, who was a vitgin, was picked out from the front row of a concert by the solo star's bodyguard and invited back to a hotel.

The woman says she was plied with champagne before the assault, that has "affected" her entire life. The alleged victim, who describes herself as a "naive 14-year-old virgin" at the time, says she had been to see the singer in concert with some friends after being given free tickets.

She told The Sun that she had never even "French-kissed" a boy at the time and that she couldn't understand the look on the star's face when he was "probably climaxing". Police are reportedly looking into the claims snd she met with detectives last week.

Nigerian Regulator Raises Concern On Lucozade, Mirinda Clears Fanta, Sprite


The Consumer Protection Council, CPC, has called for further investigation of soft drinks sold in Nigeria, following the discovery that the benzoic acid in Mirinda (a product of Seven Up Bottling Company) and Lucozade (a product of Suntory) is higher than the Nigerian regulatory standard of 250mg/kg.

The benzoic levels of both drinks are said to be up to 330mg/kg and 323.53mg/kg respectively.

Efforts to reach the manufacturers of the soft drinks were unsuccessful. They did not respond to questions sent to them through their official emails.
