First Ever Female Governor Emerges In Egypt.



First ever female Governor in Egypt, Nadia Ahmed Abdou has been sworn in by the number one citizen of the country, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. Nadia is the new governor of Beheira, Egypt.

She served as deputy governor since 2013 before she finally be came the governor of Beheira. They refer to her as "Iron Woman".

Nadia graduated in 1968 from  Faculty of Engineering's Chemistry Depsrtment, Alexandria University.

She had served in different capacities besides serving as deputy governor, she was the chief of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company between 2002 and 2012,  She also supervised water utility projects in Alexandria.

The new governor was a member of the National Council for Women's Rights and the National Democratic Party, she was also nominated by Alexandria's governor for the award of Mohammed Ben Crashed Al Maktoum for inspirational women.
