Federal Govt., Labor Set To Review Minimum Wage

Recall that the labor unions had submitted a proposal to the government demanding for N50,000 as minimum wage.

Comrade Ayuba Wabba the President of Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) said the federal government and Labor movent have reached an agreement to review the National Minimum Wage in the country. The agreement was reached during the sitting of the Technical Committee on Palliative.

The report of the committee was designed to look into suffering of the masses and to discuss the issue of minimum wage.

According to Wabba the Palliative report is ready for submission and would be submitted yo the President before the end of February.

Wabba said he optimistic about the report that minimum wage committee would be constituted soon. He added that labour had received positive response from the National Assembly that the Senate hadromised to pass the bill.
