SHARAPOVA BANNED FOR 2YEARS FOR TESTING POSIVE TO DRUG TEST

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) in Stuttgart, Germany today 8th June, said Maria Sharapova has been banned from tennis for two years after testing positive to a newly-banned substance.The 29-year-old Sharapova tested positive for meldonium at the Australia open, a heart medication which had been declared illegal a few weeks earlier by anti-doping chiefs.
 She said that she had been prescribed meldonium since 2006 by her personal physician on medical ground.
