FG SCRAPS POST- UTME, PEGS 180 AS THE BENCHMARK

Before now institutions in Nigeria were organising  post UTME for candidates seeking admissions into various tertiary institutions in Nigeria.Today, Thursday June 2, the federal government scrapped the post  Unified Tertiary Matriculation ,   UTME .
The federal government has pegged the benchmark of 180 for 2016 admission into universities , polytechnics and colleges of education to improve quality of education in the country. These decisions were made during the 2016 combined policy meeting on admissions to tertiary institutions in Njgeria. During the meeting , the minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu said since the federal government had confidence in examination conducted by  Joint Admission And Matriculation Board JAMB ,there was no need for tertiary institutions to conduct any other examination.
